Harley Davidson Motorcycles:Losses "Yes" But Metal Speaks for Itself

Harley Davidson company began manufacturing in 1903 out of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin plant. Their recent decision to sell off nearly half of the manufacturing plant to a developer translates to nearly 500 plus lay-offs. Some, if not all of those that work for Harley Davidson are loyal employees with years of history with the company.

In addition, what is happening nearly 1,247 miles away is not much brighter. For instance in south Florida where I am from Harley Davidson Motorcycle empire as we once knew it, is forever changed. Harley Davidson lost an icon. On July 30, 2009 Bruce Rossmeyer died in a motorcycle accident. His wife, Sandy and five children survived him. Bruce Rossmeyer had dealerships throughout Florida. He lived his passion. He built his empire and business around what he enjoyed and made it very successful.

Although the losses are great, and by the way Triumph has closed some of their dealerships as well. Harley Davidson Motorcycles still build metal masterpieces. Plus if you own a Harley Davidson Motorcycles you will not be short of friends and things to do! Freedom of the road comes with a Warning: don’t forget the honey. Get two bikes or invest in a seat comfy for two. Don’t leave anyone behind! You may not want to return.

Harley Davidson Motorcycle Company recalls over 111,000 of its motorcycles including the popular Trikes even with tough financial troubles and economic down turn. Harley Davidson is obviously concerned with the safety of its customers and putting them first before their financial bottom line which is the way it should be. The recall includes the CVO Touring Models and Trikes. If you think you may be affected call your local dealer with the VIN #. Be sure to check these bikes out. Happy holidays and RIDE SAFE!

You can travel anywhere and see anything but it's how you do it that really matters. You can always get that open road feeling on a motorcycle while riding exploring and adventuring into unknown territory because a motorcycle is just that open road back to nature and goes where an automobile doesn't. You don't get all the wind and elements of the ride if you hop into your comfy Cadillac. You could honestly make the comparison of a camper and a tent to a five star hotel. Some have to have the comfort for whatever reason or fancy. Then again when it comes to traveling maybe there is a time for both. I like to travel down to the local HD dealer for the newest and compare what I see from the dealer to what is out on the steet ..the after market.

What's even more fun about traveling by motorcycle is riding in a group. You get to meet new people and sometimes even ride for a worth while cause. For example, Harley Davidson's bikers always seem to have rides for raising money for kids or cancer and maybe you can even start a ride for a cause yourself. Check the Internet for Harley blogs or your local area and you'll find information on group rides on various motorcycle blogs, affiliations, or companies raising money for children or cancer or some other charity organizing a group ride of thousands of riders. Now that's great travel fun and something rewarding as well. You even have a good reason to go if your spouse doesn't. Or maybe a reason to have the significant other join you.

Speaking of a great motorcycle fun and places to visit ..how about the Harley Davidson Motorcycle dealers. There nothing like car shopping even if your not in the market for a new motorcycle. Their are packed with impulse items too and memorabilia to keep you coming back. The Harley Davidson stores are now full of interesting accessories, sexy clothing and of course lots of the newest and brightest motorcycles. Why not shop for leather Jackets, T-shirts caps, and even Harley Davidson jewelry and yes coffee mugs. Why other retail shops haven't caught on to this idea of marketing a brand name is shear madness. Enjoy your travels and if you stop in to a Harley Davidson dealer don't be surprised if you walk out with more than just a tour of motorcycles.

I know when I just started to learn about The Harley Davidson Motorcycles as what sets them apart from other bikes; I learned the $100 dollar rule. Yes, there is the expense. For everything you buy for a Harley it cost $100. Sound, Speed, Freedom ...Maybe there's a Wow factor.

With a Harley....everything is just a little more specialized and a little more so. I do not have a bike myself and am looking with eyes wide opened. Too big for my own good, I might add.

There is the other significant appeal about the Harley motocycles. The more I look into owning one of those beauties! The more I want one. So I will take advantage of some of the training rides or learn the ropes before diving in and finding myself on U-Tube, or seriously hurt. especially because I want to ride in a group and not run into anyone.

The social factor. They same to attract anybody and everybody from all backgrounds and bring them together into a social network where people would ordinarly come together for any other reason. The non-conformist and the conformist share a commonality....pretty cool? Everybody travels and everybody has a blast doing it on a harley or another bike for that matter. For me it's going to be a Harley.
It's a girl thing.

Harley Davidson Motorcycle celebrates its 105th Birthday with a roar! Where else but Milwaukee, Wisconsin with street parties, including music including rock and blues all starting on August 27th with of course the parade of harley davidson motorcycles all of about 7,500 on August 30th. In the past, some of the people have complained about the noise. They certainly must like all the revenue it brings to the local businesses. Villagers have been known to put signs in their yards. “Thanks for the Rumble Not the Roar”. Harley Davidson Motorcycle manufactuer seems to care. However to some who are lucky enough to own a Harley I would think signs like that only entice attitude and more noise. The HD company...They do their best to tone it down. They stopped selling modifications to their mufflers that make their bikes noisier back in 2004. I suppose that not only does Harley Davidson want to protect the freedom to ride, but is somewhat of a peacekeeper in more than one way. Technorati Profile

With gas prices on the rise and no relief in sight, there are bound to be more motorcycles on the road. Like some friends of mine who gave up their passion years ago are now reclaiming their lost love by buying a motorcycle. A harley-davidson dealer will offer training just for purchasing a harley motorcycle and in some cases will fly you into to the harley-davidson dealer.Nothing beats the open road, the freedom, and of course with a harley motorcycle the instant family of new friends. Remembering that bikes are not just for commuting but for adventure and open road travel. My friend once gave up riding, now has a very good reason to buy a bike again. No excuses. A journey for some you might say and maybe like my friend - an extension of oneself. He thought the fun in his life was over. If you want to really get the adventure but not sure yet about buying consider renting the movie "Wild Hogs".

It's finally motorcycle weather, and more and more people are buying them for recreation, and also for commuting. With price of gas going into the stratosphere, more people want to save money, and riding a bike is a good way to do it. They get excellent mileage. I have a friend who commutes about 80 miles a day, and he drives his Harley sportster, and gets at least 60 miles to the gallon. That's darned good mileage! I was spending some time reading a Harley motorcycles blog to see if I would benefit from having a bike, because I like to take summer trips to the nearby mountains. Years ago, I had a bike, but that was when I lived in the country and if I passed a car every five minutes, it was heavy traffic. Now I live in a crowded city with tons of traffic, and I value my health and safety. After reading that I could take advanced classes in motorcycle technique, I've decided to look around for a Harley sportster, too, and start taking weekend trips to the mountains to see the scenery and cool off.

Every year the Harley Davidson motorcycle shop in our area has a day set aside for anyone who wants to take their Harley Davidson motorcycle bikes for a ride. Of course you have to have a valid motorcycle license to go on the ride and a suitable helmet for the occasion. My oldest son makes a point of going on this Harley Davidson motorcycle ride every year. He loves the ride of the Harley sportster and tries to get assigned to that bike whenever he can. It is quite the sight to watch about two dozen Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiasts leave the parking lot of the shop all at the same time. They head out onto the roads through the city then out onto a highway course that is predetermined. It has been an annual event for the past few years and every year there has been an increase in interest and more riders show up to enjoy the event. A Harley Davidson motorcycle is certainly an attention getting vehicle, both visually and audibly. It is great to see this Harley Davidson motorcycle tradition is still alive and vibrant.

Harley Davidson Motorcycle Museum Opens Summer

I have some exciting news to break on this Harley motorcycles blog having to do with the opening date of the long awaited Harley Davidson motorcycle museum. For all the riders out there that are looking for a new destination to cruise to this summer, let me suggest Milwaukee on or after July 12, 2008. The doors to the Harley museum will open up at 10:00 am on July 12.

The museum encompasses 130,000 square feet of everything Harley. It has been a long road to the top of the hog food chain but Harley got there and has stayed there for decades. It was about time for something like this to come around in order to tell the long history of such an influential motorcycle manufacturer.

Inside the Harley Davidson motorcycle museum, guests will see hundreds of bikes, pictures, company artifacts, videos and enough Harley information to make you an expert. Expect a wild opening day and weekend that will include musical performances, food, prizes, tattooing and bike building. That is a great place to road trip to this summer.

It's no secret that the Harley Davidson Motorcycle company is being hit pretty hard by the recent economic downturn in the U.S. But you know what? Harley Davidson Motorcycle company isn't letting even the recent massive layoffs and plant closings ruin the joy of taking a Harley Sportster or some other model of Harley out on the road for a ride. "Screw it, let's ride" is the message that the Harley Davidson motorcycle company is putting out for all to see. In fact, Harley Davidson motorcycle dealers are giving out free bandannas bearing that logo to help spread the word. The point is, H-D is telling the world, 'Sure, times are tough right now, but we've been around for over a hundred years, and weathered world wars, a worldwide depression and other economic woes, and we're still here.' Hell, unless I miss my guess, they'll be cranking out the Harley Davidson motorcycle a hundred years from now, but by then the Harley Sportster will probably have been replaced by a hydrogen-fueled hoverbike or some equally futuristic technology. So, if you're a Harley owner, don't let Harley's financial troubles get to you. You'll still be able tog et Harley Davidson parts accessories, and nothing can take away the joy of taking your bike out on the highway and really opening it up.
